How to make sure that Divorce is recognised in UK and in India?

Unfortunately after 2 years of marriage, my wife and I are separating and want to get a divorce. I am Indian and she is british, married in India under Special marriage Act. I am permanent resident and if we get a divorce through UK court, would that be valid in Indian courts and what procedure is there to make the divorce known or register in indian marriage registrar's office? This is a divorce by mutual consent. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.|||Divorce granted in one country is generally recognized by other countries (same as marriage registered abroad)

Looks like you are looking at divorce by mutual consent, in which case even UK should be okay for you|||There is a reciprocal arrangement to recognise divorce proceedings, in place, between India and Great Britain, and the rulings will be applied equally in both nations, but if it turns hostile, then a man is better off in the Indian courts, where despite all matters to the contrary, the rulings favour the male in marriage to this day....as to the Indian registrars office, it is only needed when a new marriage in India is considered, there is no need to inform them, until the marriage is applied for under their legal jurisdiction, when the presenting of the divorce papers will be sufficient to allow a future marriage to go ahead, but keep the originals, and leave them with copies, and expect it to take some time to clear, before a marriage license will be issued, the bureaucracy in India is very slow at this sort of thing......|||Hi. Yeah it will be valid all over the world. But better to go through the Indian Court.
